Tripwire Odor Imprint Devices (TOIDS) serve as training aids for explosive detection K9 teams with limited or no access to live material. TOIDS offer real explosive odor but are INERT and DO NOT present an explosive hazard. TOIDS are non-controlled and require no licensing or special storage. TOIDS have been designed to be an inexpensive and unregulated alternative to live explosive aids. TOIDS are constructed with a laboratory grade filter material that contains microscopic odor particulate matter, which has been suffused via a proprietary method, which is permanently sealed between two (2) stainless steel discs utilizing rivets – NO adhesive is used. Our devices are prepared and packaged in accordance with FBI safe-handling techniques to prevent cross-contamination. TOIDS are currently in use by US Federal, State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies, US Special Operations Multi-Purpose Canine (MPC) Teams, Private K9 Companies, and Multiple European Law Enforcement Agencies and Military Units.

TOIDS has been extensively tested by third-party agencies and results have shown that the scent remains active for approximately 90-120 days* or conventional and 30-days* for HME odors, under normal use with proper storage and handling. TOlDS are packaged and shipped in patented and state-of-the-art OPSAK® odor barrier bags by LOKSAK®. These resealable polybags boast of a hermetic seal and are certified waterproof to 200 feet (60 meters). Any item placed inside the OPSAK® bag remains impervious to the elements and retained to the highest degree. The OPSAK® bag offers an absolute airtight seal preventing the re-entry or release of air and microorganisms, therefore minimizing breakdown and decomposition.

Each disk measures 4” in diameter and 0.25” thick and can be shipped globally via FedEx.

*Tripwire makes no guarantee to this timeframe. Longevity is approximate and based on end-user handling, storage, climate, etc. Odor may remain for a shorter or longer time depending on these variables.
